Anthem is a master-planned community on over 9 miles of land developed by Del Webb in 1999 in the foothills approximately 34 miles north of downtown Phoenix. The 1,863 feet elevation keeps the area typically cooler than the temperatures at Sky Harbor Airport.
Anthem has been described as one of the Best Places to Raise a Family by Parenting Magazine and one of the best family friendly neighborhoods in the Phoenix area by Phoenix Magazine. Anthem was also voted the Best Master Planned Community in America by the National Association of Home Builders. This is due to all the amenities Anthem offers to the residents and is included in the HOA fees.
Anthem is well known for the year round activities, primarily geared towards families. The community center offers youth soccer, baseball, basketball, tennis, various forms of martial arts, and swimming amongst other activities for ages as early as toddler years. There is a pool larger than Olympic size, a community water park with slides and various depths for all swimming levels, paths that crisscross the town, bike paths that circle all major streets, and pocket parks also scattered throughout the town. In addition, there is a 63-acre community park complete with an amphitheater, grassy areas, volleyball, soccer, football, baseball and little league fields along with a train, pavilion, lakes and pagodas.
The Golf Community of Anthem Country Club is located within the boundaries of Anthem at the base of Daisy Mountain. Anthem is known as the Club with two of everything including: two championship golf courses, two golf practice facilities, two clubhouses, two dining rooms, two state-of-the-art fitness centers, two heated pools, and two tennis gardens. Social membership is an integrated part of the homeowner experience for residents of the country club community. For residents of other Anthem communities they can request an invitation to a variety of memberships including Tennis, off Season Golf and Full Golf memberships.
